The Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GoI) has established the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous, and self-sustained premier testing organization under the Societies Registration Act (1860) for conducting efficient, transparent, and international standardized tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions with a mission to improve equity and quality in education by developing and administering research-based valid, reliable, efficient, transparent, fair and international level assessments.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the exam dates for both sessions for JEE Main 2025. The last date to submit the JEE Main 2025 application form is November 22, 2024. According to the schedule, JEE Main Session 1 will be held from January 22, 23, 24, 28 and 29, 2025 (first shift) and 30th Jan 2025 (Second Shift), while Session 2 will take place from April 1 to 8, 2025. The application form for JEE Main 2025 Session 1 is now available.
What is JEE Main 2025?
JEE Main 2025 is a national-level entrance examination organised by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for candidates seeking admission to undergraduate programs in engineering and architecture. The JEE Main 2025 exam will primarily be conducted in a computer-based format, except for the Drawing section of Paper 2, which will be administered in a pen-and-paper format. The exam comprises two distinct papers:
- Paper 1: This paper is designed for admission to BE/BTech courses and includes questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics based on the Class 11 and 12 curriculum.
- Paper 2: This paper caters to admissions in BArch and BPlan courses. It is further divided into two parts: Paper 2A, which focuses on BArch and includes Mathematics, an Aptitude Test, and Drawing; and Paper 2B, which is designed for BPlan and contains Mathematics, an Aptitude Test, along with planning-related questions.

JEE Main 2025 Eligibility Criteria
| Eligibility Requirement |

| Candidates must have completed their Class 12 board examinations in 2022 or 2023, or be currently appearing for them in 2024. |
| They should be in the final year of the 10+2 examination. |
| Students who have completed an intermediate or a two-year Pre-University examination from a recognised Board or University are eligible to apply. |
| Candidates who have finished a two-year course from the Joint Service Wing of the National Defence Academy are also eligible. |
| Those who have passed the 10+2 examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) with at least five subjects can apply. |
| Candidates holding a three-year diploma are eligible as well. |
| NIOS students who are currently appearing for their 10+2 exams must select their respective State for eligibility purposes. |
