The NEET Counselling 2024 will be conducted tentatively from July 2024 onwards. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), the counselling authority will announce the NEET 2024 counselling date approximately a month after the declaration of the NEET result 2024. MCC will release the NEET 2024 counselling schedule PDF along with the release of the information bulletin and updating the MCC NEET UG counselling portal.
There will be around six rounds of counselling for NEET UG 2024, to be conducted tentatively till November 2024. The number of rounds may vary based on the seat vacancy of each course. The NEET UG counselling process is the method followed for medical seat allotment. The total number of MBBS and BDS seats is 1,09,145 and 27,868 respectively.
NEET counselling is conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for admission to MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing seats of All India Quota (AIQ) accounting for 15 per cent. The State Medical Counselling and Admission Authorities are responsible for conducting the counselling process for the 85 per cent State Quota seats. Only those candidates who will qualify for the exam by scoring the NEET cutoff marks or qualifying marks will be eligible to participate in the medical counselling 2024.
The NEET 2024 exam was conducted on May 5, 2024, and the NEET 2024 result was declared on June 4, 2024. NEET 2024 Counselling Process
Candidates qualifying for NEET 2024 willing to participate in the counselling process for the AIQ seats in Deemed Universities/ Central Universities/ ESIC colleges have to register online on the official website of MCC. The process of NEET 2024 counselling is explained in detail below:
Registration
The first step is to register for the NEET counselling window for each round. The registration process is completely online. Candidates have to visit the official website of MCC to complete the registration process and pay the fee in online mode using net banking, credit or debit card and UPI.
Choice filling
- After completing the registration process, candidates need to fill in the choices by logging into the registered account on the MCC portal
- They need to choose the course/ college in the desired order of preference
- They can fill in any number of choices from the list provided

- They can also move up/ move down a choice as per their preference

- MCC releases the provisional NEET counselling seat allotment result first. Upon checking the list, if a candidate finds any discrepancy, he/she can report it to MCC within the given schedule. After that, MCC releases the final seat allotment result. Candidates must note that it is the final seat allotment result which will be considered for final admission.
